Chiara Lubich, founder of the Focolare Movement, and our first inspiration, has left us.

We are remembering her with two brief statements that she gave to us, and that will endure always as milestones for NetOne.

"What is the purpose of mass media? Their collective vocation is
evident: their role is to help human beings live together." (June 2, 2000)

"In the previous meeting, thinking of Mary, we were saying that those working in the field of communications, inspired by the charisma of unity, know what the qualities of a mother are. They understand that a mother, illuminated with love, sees deeper and farther than others. And from her they learn to better understand human beings and situations, and to provide a more true communication, one that is deeper and broader, that is not always provided. Where the negative aspects of human beings and circumstances are not ignored, but where the greater emphasis is given to the positive. Because just so is love: it knows the reality, with its many shadows, but knows how to transform it in order to help the good triumph in everyone" (June 6, 2003 )

We will continue to keep Chiara Lubich alive among us in the commitment that this, her vision of communications, becomes life and culture.

The funeral will take place Tuesday, March 18, at 3pm in Rome, at the Basilica di S. Paolo fuori le mura (St. Paul Outside the Walls Basilica), and will be be televised live on various TV channels .

There is a continuing, uninterrupted flow of many people arriving at the Center of the Focolare Movement, who want to say a final good-bye to Chiara Lubich. For those who cannot be present, there is a live feed , at various times throughout the day, of the hall where Chiara Lubich's body lies in state.
